#4 Janet E’s Bobby, Les, Tank, Ranger & Stephanie – The Proposal

Forgive me everyone. It just seemed appropriate.  Thanks Janet for letting me borrow these guys. Feel free to laugh. I don’t get anything for this.

The Proposal

Bobby walked into the office and found Lester kneeling on the floor.  Les was wearing a suit with a rose in his lapel, and he seemed to be cleaning the floor in front of his desk.

“What are you doing Les?” Bobby asked.

“What does it look like?” Lester growled.

“I can’t even guess,” Bobby said.

“I’m getting ready to call that girl.  Ranger told me to make a proposal, and I’ve got to get ready first.”

Bobby slapped his hand over his mouth, but a wheezing snort escaped.  He spun around and headed for Tank’s office.  Stepping inside, he slammed the door and fell on the floor, letting go with a loud bray of laughter.

“What the hell’s wrong with you?” Tank yelled, “Can’t you see I’m on the phone?”  He had never seen Bobby laugh so hard. Pretty soon he was laughing too. “Wait!  What the hell are we laughing at?” he gasped.

“It… It… It’s Les.” Bobby howled “He’s proposing to that girl!”

Ranger was on the other end of the phone with Tank.  He held the phone away from his ear as their laughter roared and snorted from the receiver.

“Help me Ranger!” Tank gasped and let out another loud burst of laughter.

“Shit!” Ranger yelled.  He slammed down the phone, and headed toward Tanks office.

When Ranger walked in, Tank was sitting on the floor, laughing so hard tears were running down his face.  Bobby was laying on the floor, holding his hands over his mouth, trying to stop the laughter.

“It’s Les.” Bobby gasped and tried sitting up again, only to fall backwards laughing.

“Bobby get a grip.” Ranger tried to suppress a smile, but he broke out in a wide grin as Bobby rolled face down on the floor.  He leaned over and rolled Bobby over on his back again. “Can you clarify that a little bit?” he asked, trying not to laugh.

“You, you told Les to call that girl with a proposal today.” Bobby sat up.

“And,”

“So he’s proposing to her!” Bobby howled, falling over again. Tank had been trying to stand up,  but this set him off again and he joined Bobby back on the floor.

“What?  No way!”  Ranger turned around, opened the door and walked toward Lester’s cubicle.  There was Lester, down on one knee with his headset on, talking to someone.  Les had his hands folded on his heart.  Ranger stood behind him and listened to what Les was saying.

Slipping away and entering Tanks office, Ranger grabbed the laptop from the desk and dropped down on the floor next to Bobby. “You got to see this.”  he said, activating a link to a camera in the main room.  There was Lester down on one knee apparently singing to someone on the phone with him.

Tank crawled over and he and Bobby leaned forward to see the screen.  Ranger shook his head and laughed out loud. Hearing Ranger laugh made Tank and Bobby start all over again. Pretty soon all three of them were gasping for breath.

Just as they were beginning to get themselves back under control, the door flew open and Les ran in.

“Guys, Guys,” he yelled,” I’m engaged. She said yes.”

Three sets of eyes stared at him in amazement.   Not one chuckle was left in the room.

“No.”  Tank whispered.

“She didn’t.”  Bobby said, his eyes bugging out.

“Oh Les,  I can’t believe you did that.”  Ranger muttered.

The door banged open again as Stephanie followed Les into the office.  “Got you!”  she said and started giggling.  Les burst out laughing at the three men sitting on the floor with their mouths open.

“April Fools!  April Fools! ” Les and Stephanie shouted together laughing and sharing a fist bump.

Ranger jumped up “Get him Tank,” he yelled.

Tank and Bobbie jumped up and grabbed Les. With Ranger in the lead they headed down the hall dragging Lester. They shoved him in the elevator and went down to the parking level.

Stephanie ran down the steps after them and got there in time to see them pick Les up and shove him into the waiting crate.

“Help me Steph!”  Les yelled, “You said this would be funny.  It’s a joke. Its April Fool’s day, guys.”

Stephanie sucked in a breath as all eyes swiveled toward her.

Ranger slowly walked over and stood in front of her. “Do you think that was funny?”

Stephanie blushed.  “Ye..Yes?” she stammered.

Tank and Bobbi suddenly grabbed her and lifted her up. They shoved her yelling and screaming into the crate with Les.

“You’re right, hey, this is funny,” Tank shouted, as they hammered the lid on the crate.
